Pros and cons of working at home Essay

Many people work at home using modern technology today. Some people think only the worker benefit from this, not the employers. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Essay: Technology is rapidly changing everything in the world, including the way people work. Working at home, as a new mode of work enabled by internet and multimedia technologies, is getting increasingly popular in some industries, especially the burgeoning IT sector. However, people have differing views on this new work mode. For example, it is believed that it only benefits employees, rather than the employers. I tend to agree with this view to large degree.Among all the differing views people have on this new work mode, I’m very inclined to the view that it only benefits employees, rather than employers. Apparently, by no means can the benefits of working at home for employees cannot be denied. To start with, nothing can be more comfortable and relaxing than working in their one’s own homes which are the most familiar environment to them. They He even can even settle back in their his soft sofa in his living halls, and drink have their his favouritefavorite drinks, or even enjoy an exciting action movie while working on their laptops. In addition, they an employee also havecould have much time to spend with their his family if theyhe could do his work at home. This new mode of work might be the most effective remedy for many family problems that are caused by the lack of time to be with family.They even can have meals with spouse and kids or see them anytime they like. Furthermore, an employ working at home could be saved working at home can save employees much expense and time that would spent on their way to and from work every day. However, what is unfair to employers is that they can hardly benefit from this new work mode, except that some overhead, like office rent and water/electricity bills, can be saved. The most unfavourable worrying problem of this new mode has to do with team building. A lack of face-to-face communication between team members employees that work at their own homesdue to their different locations, can could essentially undermine the team spirit and also is also likely to cause problemscreate barriers for in collaboration and cooperation between them team members. Similarly, it also could set intangible obstacle hurdles to team managers in their day-to-day team management, for it. It will bewould be rather difficult for mangers to supervise employees and monitor their performance. In  conclusion, although technology makes working at home mode possible, the only one beneficiary of this advancement is the employees. What employers and manager can get from it is will be nothing but troubles in the end.

Life as a Parent

Growing up we all wish that one day we will have a family, with a partner and children. At least that’s what I’ve always known. That I believe should be everyone’s plan growing up. Unfortunately, there are some people not fortunate enough to have the opportunity to have children of their own, but like they say a parent is someone who raises them not someone who has just their blood. I met a young couple who got married at a very young age, and struggled much to have children. They tried and tried for many years. Their names were Phil Hansen and Candy Chang. They were a young couple who lived in a huge mansion. Phil was a great artist and Candy was an artist, designer, and urban planner. They had it all money, a big house, great jobs, but that wasn’t all they needed in life. They wanted to have children so bad but after so many treatments found out that neither of them had the capability of producing any children. Candy would always say to Phil â€Å"I want children so bad honey, I want to smell a newborn baby, their just so adorable†. This would upset Phil badly, he wanted to make Candy happy and give her everything she wanted. Until one day, he thought of a great idea. He thought maybe him and Candy could adopt two children. He thought it was a great idea but didn’t know how Candy would feel about it. One night he decided to take Candy out for dinner to her favorite restaurant. That night Candy got ready and said to Phil â€Å"What’s the reason is for this dinner? She said. Phil responded, No reason just felt like going out for dinner and having a serious conversation with you. That only left Candy wondering what was really going on. They arrived at a restaurant called â€Å"Ming Chinese Buffet†, it was a Chinese restaurant. After enjoying a wonderful tasty dinner, Phil asked Candy â€Å"Candy would you like to adopt some children and make hem our own†? Candy smiled, and replied of course that is a wonderful idea. She was so excited. The next morning they went to orphanage, where there were children left that had no parents, and were waiting for someone to want to be their parents. There were kids of all ages, from newborns to teenagers. Phil and Candy were undecided on wether to adopt newborns or teenagers, because they knew they wanted to adopt two children. They fell in love with many children there, they all were lovely. After giving it lots of though, they decided to go for thse two boys that were cousins. They were 5 & 6 years of age. Their names were Stephen Ritz and Ramsey Musallam. Their mothers were sisters; they both gave them up for their drug addiction. Phil and Candy completed the adoption process and took their boys home after a few weeks. These boys started changing their life’s since day one. Phil and Candy created rooms for both their boys, bought them clothes, toy, everything they wanted. They boys meant everything to them; they gave them the best education, the best of everything. They enjoyed every minute with them, they knew that time would fly, and they would be adult in no time. Years and years went by. Next thing you knew they were adults. Ramsey was 24 and Stephen was 25. They were two grown men. They were so thrilled, and happy that these two young men were all grown up, and were two young men. They both were very smart boys, that knew exactly what they wanted to be in life. Stephen knew he wanted to be a teacher, and he wanted to change the life of many children. Ramsey as well was interested in the education field; he wanted to be an educator. They knew exactly what they had to do, and with such great parents, they knew that they had all the support from them. Phil and Candy paid Stephen and Ramsey’s way through the best of the education there is out there. They successfully were able to accomplish everything they intended to. Stephen became a well-known teacher/administrator. He had a believe that students shouldn’t have to leave their community to live, learn and earn. He wanted to help children have something of their own, in their own community. That is why a successful group of his students features the first edible wall in New York City. This wall generates enough produce to feed about 450 students very healthy meals, and trains young children. His students traveled throughout New York and earned their own wage. He felt very successful for accomplishing one of his goals. Ramsey on the other hand was a successful educator. He believed that education was a slow and painful process. All this new technology, he believed was hard to consume. He was a great science teacher at Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep in San Francisco, CA. His goal from the start was to integrate multimedia into a hands on, inquiry-based learning cycle, and to empower other teachers to do the same. He became a successful advocate for flip teaching, tab casting, video casting, and screen casting in classrooms. They both succeeded in what they wanted to acknowledge. They became very well-known educators that made a change. They were able to accomplish all this with the help of Candy and Phil. They were such a great support system to them, and never failed to be there for them. Phil and Candy were very proud of their children and how successful they were. They knew that they had raised to very wonderful children. They were proud of all their accomplishments, and were very thankful for adopting such wonderful children, whom they loved as they were their own. The story of this wonderful couple really made me realize, there’s always an opportunity for everything. Phil and Candy were devastated of the thought of never having children, and at first didn’t acknowledge the opportunity of adoption. When they made that choice, they knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but decided to go for it anyways. Now they feel so grateful for the big opportunity life set for them, and for getting the opportunity to be such great parents. They felt like they succeeded as parents, and now plan for a wonderful future with their successful children.

Knowing how my brother suffered, I also volunteered throughout the last semester of my fourth year at the children’s cancer ward in Prince Sultan Center. When I graduated from college and started to work, that was when I started to further understand the problems in manageme nt departments that focus on policy and regulation. The Qin and Han dynasty had both court music and ritual music performed in courts. During the reign of these kingdoms, music expanded immensely. The different dynasties sought to incorporate certain musical aspects into the traditional Chinese music. As Strobel seeks to stay independent in gathering the evidence he proposes a question to help him determine if McRay will exaggerate the role of archeology when it comes to determining the reliability of the gospels. We become emotionally bound to our worldview, so much so that worldview changes occur rarely. Observational evidence became apparent that the universe was expanding. Inferring back in time revealed that the universe was merely billions of years old. The data eventually led to the Big Bang theory which is virtually universally accepted by modern day cosmologist. The idea that the universe could have gone through an infinite number of birth and deaths was shown to be false on the basis of the lack of amount of matter within the universe. So we have come to realize that the universe first began to exist 13 billion years ago. Atheists are left with a problem because their worldview requires all things have a cause to exist So logic says that the universe had a cause. Virtually all atheists say that this cause was some natural phenomenon. It is also possible that the cause of the universe was a supernatural intelligence, God. The problem gets worse for the atheist. The physical laws of the universe fall within very small ranges in order for life or matter to exist contradicting strong atheism. The prospect of finding a naturalistic cause for the origin of the universe is dreary since the laws of physics indicate that we will never be able escape the bounds of our universe to even look for the cause of the universe.

On the NPR website, it includes other links that take you to other credible sights. In general the website looks very professional and there are no issues with grammar, spelling, or punctuation. This specific story was done in 2016 which proves that is a current source. I would use this source in the middle of my essay because it explains both sides clearly. It supports both sides and helps explain why this topic is controversial. It also gives the insight of what high positions think about this topic and what they think the solution is. Communication Barriers Essay

The problem that is to be addressed will be the communication barriers between employees and management. Some people have a problem with the way they receive the conversation or the way people talk to them and other people have a problem with the way they use their verbal and nonverbal communication skills. There are many ways to determine the proper way to communicate and to miscommunicate. Solving the problem of non-communication in the work place can be easy, but at the same time it can be very costly. The movie Devil Wears Prada is a great example of miscommunication. The main owner, editor or â€Å"CEO† of that corporation talks to the new girl as if she has worked there for years. The new girl is given directions and does not know how to proceed with them because she was not trained properly. In the movie the CEO makes a statement â€Å"Emily? Emily? † Finally someone tells the new girl that the CEO means her and the new girl goes into the office. CEO states â€Å"Get me that guy I talked to yesterday about the skirts and scarfs on the phone. † The new girl goes back out of the office to her desk and starts looking for a phone number, but she has no idea who to look for, the first assistant, just coming back from lunch, asked the new girl â€Å"What are you doing? † The new girl tells the first assistant what the CEO said and within seconds the CEO was talk to the guy she spoke to yesterday about the skirts and scarfs. In this incident, there was minimal communication and there are also many ways to fix this. For instance, the first assistant should have taught the new girl about the phone directory, terms, and where to find other things that could be useful. If the new girl was trained correctly, then while the first assistant was at lunch, the new girl would have been able to handle the phones, but would still have problems not knowing what person the CEO talked to yesterday about the skirts or scarfs. With this part of the communication barrier, the CEO should have been more informative on the information that she gave the new girl. For instance, if the CEO had given the name of the person she talked to, then it would have narrowed down the people she to yesterday or vise-versa, or the CEO could have given the company name and with the correct training could have determined the person she talked to the day before. There are many ways to work on the communication between the CEO, manager, and another associate. The main objective should be to train the person properly before â€Å"throwing them to the wolves,† or putting them â€Å"on the sales floor† If the person is trained properly then they will learn the terminology, phone directory, and also know where to find other things related to going the job. When giving tasks to carry out, you would need to give specifics on what you want and names or descriptions of what is expected. When receiving the tasks, if you do not understand, then ask questions on what the other person is looking for or how to go about doing getting the job done.

McLellan-Zabielski October 24, 2012 What would happen if we didn’t cut trees, use transportation, even turn on our lights or any electrical item we own? Then global warming wouldn’t exist. The things that we do on the daily basis is what produces carbon emissions, when we burn oil, coal, and gas, it releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The result of this is climate change, temperature, and moisture, which affects our ecosystem, consisting of plant life and human life.One type of ecosystem is plant life, temperature and moisture influence birth, growth and death rates of plants (Effects on Ecosystems chapter 10). These factors also influence photosynthesis and respiration, which responds differently to temperature, in low temperatures, photosynthesis, is slow, at higher temperatures it accelerates. It is argued that global warming may result in a reduction in net carbon uptake by plants (Woodwell, 1987). Though plants have the ability to adjust to climate change, plants stay in the limited range where they are able to breathe and reproduce.If plants don’t receive enough moisture, it reduces plant growth, if too much moisture then it can cause cellular damage and a rapid increase in respiration (Hanson and Hitz, 1982). Plants absorb carbon, but when it’s burned or when they decay; carbon is released back into our atmosphere, the result being greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. It is a process that carbon goes through or better yet a cycle it goes through, it is cycled from land, to ocean, to air.The ocean contains 50 times more carbon then our atmosphere because it serves as a repository system. Earths current levels of carbon in the atmosphere is something that we should be worried about, the Earth was warmer and sea levels were higher in the past, we’re below the normal averages of where Earth’s levels are suppos ed to be. The blame to this change is us as humans; we are forcing the atmosphere to change, we responsible for the increase of carbon dioxide emissions.Fossil fuels when combusted, contain carbon which bond with oxygen and forms carbon dioxide that enter our atmosphere. The leading fossil fuel is coal, which is used most to form electricity, releases more carbon into the atmosphere than any other fossil fuel we use, even gas doesn’t release as much carbon as coal does. About 40% of fossil fuel combustion is used up by electricity, to power up our homes, businesses and industries, using coal as the primary source of energy (Inventory of U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks: 1990-2010). Transportation is the second largest source of CO2 emissions, about 31% of fossil fuel combustion is used to transport ourselves and goods. Vehicles, air travel, marine transportation and trains are the sources that we use to transport from place to place, using gasoline or diesel.
